History
History of Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association
The Turkish Medical Radiotechnology Association was founded on 27 December 1995 as the Medical Radiology Technicians Association in Izmir on the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the X-rays. At the Club Sera Hotel in Antalya in 1992 for the first time, it was decided to establish an association at the Radiotechnology Seminar with the participation of 85 colleagues.
Our association serving nationwide, the level of professional knowledge in the field of Radiology, congresses, seminars, continuous publications, etc. aims to increase working conditions, to produce solutions to professional problems and to optimize working conditions. The National Radiation Congress is held every two years on a regular basis.
Our association is a member of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT). In this way, we have the opportunity to be represented in the international arena and to exchange views on this platform and to approach our profession in parallel with all world countries.
Our application to the Ministry of Interior was accepted in 08.05.1998, and the word “Turk” was added on behalf of our association and the name was rearranged as “Turkish Medical Radiology Technicians Association”.
At The Ordinary General Assembly meeting held in April 2004 in Izmir, the name of our association was changed to Turkish Medical Radiology Association to cover all of our colleagues serving in radiology (radiodiagnostic, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine) in order to eliminate the confusion of concepts.
